About Us

NAHN Central Florida Chapter

The National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) Central Florida Chapter locally supports the advancement in the health of Hispanic communities through advocacy and leadership development of Central Florida Nurses with educational, leadership, mentorship, and professional opportunities.

Our Goals

  1. Provide a forum for nurses to analyze and evaluate the health care needs of the Hispanic community in Central Florida.

  2. Promote the safety and the quality of health care delivery services for the Hispanic community.

  3.  Promote culturally sensitive models of intervention that provide effective nursing care for Hispanic communities.

  4. Disseminate research findings related to Hispanic population to increase awareness of the specific health care needs of Hispanics.

  5. Collaborate with other Hispanic health care professionals in meeting the goals of improving health for Hispanics.

  6. Represent professional Hispanic nurses in the Central Florida region.

  7. Serve by example in providing culturally sensitive services to Hispanic populations (patients, nurses, and students).

  8.  Promote the recruitment and retention of Hispanic students in nursing education programs, in order to increase the number of bilingual and bicultural nurses who may provide culturally sensitive nursing care to Hispanic consumers.

  9. Advance the educational, professional, and leadership skills of Hispanic nurses in order to increase the number of Hispanic researchers, administrators, and educators.

  10. Promote the nursing profession by encouraging the youth to pursue careers in the nursing.

Recruiting/Membership Committee

The Membership Committee provides input and feedback to the Central Florida NAHN Chapter staff and to the board on issues concerning individual membership, chapters, and the Hispanic nursing community. It serves as a sounding board to the Central Florida NAHN Chapter staff on issues related to members’ benefits and programs.

The Public Relations Committee seeks to cultivate engagement of members, organizations, and sponsorships by creating and sustaining strategies to inspire membership communication, innovation, and social media visibility aimed to promote the mission and values of NAHN.

Programs and products of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses are non-refundable except where noted. Returns are not accepted, except in the case of pins and cords which are subject to the return policy of the product vendor. There are no refunds on member dues.
